and the ride south to Surat Thani (the town on the mainland from Ko Samui)
In Nakhon Pathom, the shop finally "fixed" the electrical problem at about 3pm of day 2. We decided to head out anyways and made it to Phetchaburi. After a couple hours riding from Phetchaburi, we learned that with all the "re-wiring" the shop did, he had caused other electrical problems with a bad connection or two. The bike barely made it to this shop in Hua Hin, after a short tow behind dad's bike to get it running. We were lucky to find this shop as we came into town, because towns rarely have more than one "big bike" shop, if they have any at all. There are no franchise dealers for new bikes bigger than 200CC. Any "Big Bikes" are imported used bikes from Japan.
