Dad and Air go South to Malaysia! Flew into Kuala Lumpur,(south in Malaysia). The city looks like future world, amazing! Home of the famous 85 story Petronas Twin Towers (in many movies.) The country is rich in oil and gas, and it shows everywhere.
We travelled North by land from Kuala Lumpur. Stayed a day in the Cameron Highlands, 6,600ft, 1000s of acres of tea plantations owned by a Scottish family. Considered among the worlds best, an amazing sight.
Next, we went North to Georgetown, on the Island on Penang, an old Former Colonial City with English and Dutch architecture.
After, we were on to the island of Langkawi, off the NW corner of Malaysia near the thai border for three days. Great beaches and very laid back. Even got my feet wet!
We returned by ferry and then overland to Hat Yai, Thailand, about 50 miles North of the Malaysian border.
Lastly, we flew from Hat Yai to Bangkok, and then back up to Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand.
Total costs incl hotels, travel, tours, 3 day bike rental for 2 bikes, great meals, drinking, and 3 flights for 2 people.
---$650.00 for two, NOT BAD EH?, although a bit higher than Thailand with the atrosious room rates costing as much $10 for a double room with hot water and shower!
